We were given a selection of interviews by different designers and, following thorough research, I chose Morag Myerscough as my focus. I enjoyed her bold, energetic style and felt a connection with her through the various interviews I had listened to and read.
The brief was to create our own magazine spread using the interviews provided, creating all visuals ourselves. After breaking down the interview and using my research, I ran with the theme of “structured freedom.” Using a grid system and occasionally breaking its boundaries achieved this. The visuals I created were also an example of this, as I was creating images when my laptop failed to open them correctly, creating the glitch-like effect.
While the images above show the page layouts on InDesign, the slideshow below shows the final finished product after it was constructed and cut to size.
